A Life Dedicated to Music
Buddy Greenbloom's musical journey began as a child singing in church choirs. By age 19 he was composing music and performing in Tempe, Arizona opening for local acts that would go international, including The Gin Blossoms, The Refreshments and Jimmy Eat World. Drawing inspiration from the golden era of cowboy music, Buddy began performing covers of New Wave and Punk Rock songs in the country western format. This bold move has since taken him across the country - from New York to Los Angeles and beyond.
Buddy Greenbloom, The Gothic Cowboy, performs 21st century gringo corridos, Western ballads, and Americana versions of new wave classics. Often compared to Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Lou Reed, Greenbloom’s baritone voice and rambling guitar complement the emerging new wave of honky tonk revival and Americana acts. Buddy grew up in Houston, Texas watching country legends perform at small honky-tonks and rodeo events like the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show and Cheyenne Frontier Days. As a youth, Buddy competed in choral competitions in Brenham, Texas, and later learned to play guitar in Phoenix, Arizona. Emerging as the ‘Gothic Cowboy’ in 2003, Buddy’s repertoire focused on performing acoustic alt-country covers of punk rock and new wave hits from the 1980s. In 2003, Greenbloom released, ‘My Little Underground,’ a ten song tribute to the seminal shoegaze pioneers, The Jesus and Mary Chain, arranged as western folk songs. Greenbloom has since performed across America at private parties and public venues. In March 2022, Buddy returned to the scene with the pandemic inspired new-western ballad, (Better Off) I Remember Those Times.
Currently, Buddy is in Hollywood, California recording his second studio album composed entirely of original songs.

Toured across the USA performing at legendary venues like CBGB's (New York City) and Bob Stane's Coffee Gallery Backstage (Pasadena, CA).

Headlined the Santa Barbara Fair (Earl Warren Fairgrounds) and performed at the Ventura County Fair.
Featured as on-screen cowboy on Westworld (HBO) and The Last Tycoon (Amazon) television series.
